DOCTORS will be going outdoors to serve the public as part of the NHS's 60th year celebrations.

People will have the opportunity to speak to GPs about various health issues at the band stand in Station Road, Hayes, on September 4 between 10am and 2pm.

Dr Sabby Kant at Northwood Health Centre in Acre Way, said: "I took part in a similar event in Uxbridge in July where we had a great reaction from the public with over 150 people coming over to speak to me and my colleagues about their health so I really looking forward to supporting a similar event in Hayes.

"In Uxbridge, we had wide ranging enquiries from how to access health services to questions about blood pressure, diet, skin conditions and family planning issues.

"One of the reasons that I am taking part again is that I am I'm hoping to increase the awareness between symptoms and poor lifestyle habits. My mission is to get people to factor health into their ambitions for life."

THE public are invited to give their opinions on how to improve Pinkwell Park following a grant of £75,000 awarded by the council.

The money will be invested in the in Waltham Avenue, Harlington, and some of the improvements will include getting new playground equipment, pathways and signs.

The funding has been provided by ProLogis developers in return for being granted planning permission by Hillingdon Council for a development in nearby Bourne Avenue.

Councillor John Oswell who represents the Pinkwell ward, said: "I think it's excellent, it's just what we need, it's a good park which is very well used. And I think it's great that the public are being asked what they think, there's no point going in and telling them what they should have whether they like it or not. It will be their children and grandchildren that will be using the park so they are in the best position to say what they want there."

Mary Worrall, head of highways and green spaces at Hillingdon Council, said: " The council is currently liaising with people who use the park to get feedback on ideas about what improvements they would like to see."
