Have your say on Pinkwell Park improvements

Posted by Adrian Seal on Aug 22, 08 03:13 PM in

THE public are invited to give their opinions on how to improve Pinkwell Park following a grant of £75,000 awarded by the council.

The money will be invested in the in Waltham Avenue, Harlington, and some of the improvements will include getting new playground equipment, pathways and signs.

The funding has been provided by ProLogis developers in return for being granted planning permission by Hillingdon Council for a development in nearby Bourne Avenue.

Councillor John Oswell who represents the Pinkwell ward, said: "I think it's excellent, it's just what we need, it's a good park which is very well used. And I think it's great that the public are being asked what they think, there's no point going in and telling them what they should have whether they like it or not. It will be their children and grandchildren that will be using the park so they are in the best position to say what they want there."

Mary Worrall, head of highways and green spaces at Hillingdon Council, said: " The council is currently liaising with people who use the park to get feedback on ideas about what improvements they would like to see."

It would be good to see a couple of Tennis Courts (or more) replaced back into the park. The Courts always used to attract members of the public in the summer months.

I'd also like to see the old "Park Keeper" return to every Hillingdon Park whom used to maintain the parks.
