Residents asked to voice concerns over Hayes

Posted by Adrian Seal on Sep 19, 08 11:33 AM in Local Authority

A GURU has supported the campaign to improve Hayes by posting more than 1,000 questionnaires to residents to find out what their concerns are.

Guru Singh who serves at Kali Mata temple in Botwell Common Road sent out the questions with a team of volunteers in the Botwell area in Hayes and Pinkwell in Harlington on September 20 asking people how they feel issues such as the environment and safety need to be improved.

He said: "I am very much involved in the community in my role at the temple and I hear what people say here about what they would like to see done. Hayes is improving but it needs to continue to do so and the best way to do that is by asking people what they want.

"One of the key issues people are concerned about is crime, they feel very unsafe walking at night and it is because of muggings and the fear of being attacked."

He is expecting the results by October 20.

I have lived in Hayes for 31Yrs and Harlington for 42Yrs. It is my opinion that the rather than getting better, it has deteriated so much.

The Town Centre requires to be demolished and to start all over again. apart from the many fasy food outlets, so many selling Green Grocery and mobile phone cards, there is very little else. You might think you are living in Delhi reather than West London, my mother and Father would be totally upset, if they were to see just how this Town has developed, this is why so many English White people have already moved out.

perhaps Mr Watts you are seeing the area through blinkered and I must say quite unchristian eyes. WHSmiths/Boots/McDonalds/woolworths/iceland/argos/travel agents/bookmakers/newsagents/churches,pubs/ I cant recall many green grocers in the town area, there are a few down coldharbour lane, but its supply and demand, if its what the paying public want, then thats whats provided.your parents may also be upset about the demise of ricketts/polio and no doubt the british empire but its 2008 and its called progression. and just as an aside, when was the last time you were in Delhi, its a fabulous city, with charming people, so thats maybe what you mean about Hayes.
