Names of people charged with these sort of crimes should'nt have their names reported until they are convicted, now this will ruin his life whether he did it or not.

HE PLEADED GUILTY AND IS BEING SENTENCED THIS FRI!!!! LETS JUST HOPE HE GETS THE SENTENCE HE DESERVES, ALTHO IT WILL NOT COME CLOSE WITH THE LIFE SENTENCE THAT POOR 13YR HAS GOT!!!!!

Just because he pleaded guilty does NOT make him innocent. He has scard that girls life forever. And yes his name should be exposed as we will be aware of him! He could of gone on to do more horrific things to other children too.

you are all cowards none of you will leave a name. Take a good look in too the girls family!

Maybe you should consider what putting his name out has done to his family, a family name now ruined and tarnished with shame. Have they done anything wrong in all this? no they havent, mayeb you should consider how things are for them. Yes he has done wrong, if he has that is yet it's not right to ruin his family when they are just as sickened by this situation as everyone else is. And to natalie tahnkyou, if you people do wish to leave nasty comments atleast have the decency and credibility to own up to what your saying.

"Take a look at the girls family" what sort of comment is that!!! He pleaded guilty, why would you plead guilty if you was innocent???? so what has the poor girls family got to do with it!!!! Need to remember what this person did to a 13 YEAR OLD girl, and what that "girls family" now have to do is pick up the pieces and try and get on with there lives.

the above statement is so correct, and the one above that is rubbish!, firstly the papers put his name out not the family, secondly its his own fault he got himself into this mess and no excuse will ever make him innocent, 3rd stop feeling sorry for him as thats how it looks, trying to pass the blame on everyone else but the man who has been sent down for it, you should be ashamed of yourself!

I dont belive this is the place to be placing judgement on this awful situation at all, that is what the courts are for, I agree that both families are suffering due to the actions of Mr Howell but we will all heal in time but the child will remember this for the rest of her life and everytime she looks in the mirror or likes a boy or needs the love of a mother and father but the trust has been broken the who do we go to in our time of need !!!!! my family so please please please stop as the only person that we should all be thinking of is the victim not ourselfs..........god bless

I think it's disgusting that people are actually defending this animal! Saying people on here are cowards?? Funny how this chap could'nt try and assault someone his own age and size - he had to take advantage of a 13 year old girl! And you have the cheek to call other people cowards!

Miss N Young , how dare you say look at the girls family, no matter what people do or what you may hear did the young girl in question deserve what happened to her ? do you have children ?

Hello all, I work for the website and while we always appreciate any comments we get, I want to clear up any misunderstandings about the article that may exist. At the time of writing Mr Howell had been charged with offences but had yet to say in court whether he would be pleading guilty or not guilty. Just because he is charged does not mean he is guilty, that will be for a court to decide. I will ask a reporter to make enquiries as to what has happened since and post an update on this website.

was he guilty?? did he get done for it?? The frightening thought is he could be innocent and his name put in the paper, so now hel be looked at in a different light...I hope ur wrong..if not, then I agree with name and shame, and what about the girl whos life he has now ruined???

I can confirm he was found guilty and is now being punished for his crime.

I can confirm that he has been found guilty and is now being punished for his crime, he has also been put on the offenders list and will not be allowed to have unsupervised time alone with anyone under the age of 18 for ten years

I can advise that he has been found guilty and is now being punished for what he has done he has also been put on the offenders list so he can not be allowed to have unsupervised alone with anyone under the age of 18 for ten years period. please let this be a end to it all now.
