Police are appealing for information after a a 'large amount of money' went missing from a football ground's premises on the Sunday before Christmas.
The burglary happened between 4.30pm and 6.30am on December 20 and 21 at the Hayes Gate Football Club in Springfield Road, Hayes.

EMERGENCY services were called to attend a car crash in Harmondsworth last night (29).

Two cars smashed into each other in Hatch Lane, at around 5.40pm, causing traffic chaos for commuters.

Police and an ambulance crew arrived at the scene minutes later.

A man believed to be in his 30's was taken to Hillingdon Hospital with minor injuries, after complaining of chest pain.

There were no road closures.


TWO SIBLINGS from Hayes have been slapped with heavy fines after stealing more than £18,000 in benefits.
Ashok Kapoor, 58, a tutor from Cranford Drive, and Madhu Kapoor, 50, of Coronation Road, each faced four charges relating to obtaining benefit by deception at Harrow Crown Court on December 18.
Ashok Kapoor was found to have been overpaid by more than £11,000 after claiming Income Support and Incapacity Benefit despite owning properties and having savings. He was ordered to pay a confiscation order of £1444 and a fine of £1000.
Madhu Kapoor was ordered to pay a confiscation order of £3871 and a £2000 fine after investigators at the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) found that she had claimed more than £7000 in Income Support without declaring properties she owned.
They also face substantial legal costs and repayment of the benefit money they received. They have been warned that they face jail if they do not pay the penalties.

A 29-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for two years and five months for burglary.

Ian Thomas McCallum, of Yeading Lane, Hayes, broke into a residential property in Hillingdon on August 18 this year. Police were called to the scene at 4.30pm.

McCallum admitted the offence when he appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates' Court the following day, before being committed to Isleworth Crown Court and being sentenced on December 4 this year.

FIREFIGHTERS tackled a burst water main at the junction of Glencoe Road and Kingsash Drive, Yeading this morning (18).

A fire engine from Ruislip and two from Southall - totalling 15 fire fighters - rushed to the scene at 8.07am.

A high volume pump was used to drain water from a nearby subway. The fire teams left the scene at 10.40am.

A spokesperson for Veolia Water Three Valleys, which is responsible for water in Hillingdon, said: "We would like to apologise to customers for any inconvenience caused by a burst on an 18inch water main this morning at Glencoe Road.

"A team from Veolia Water Three Valleys are currently on site repairing the main which we are hoping to complete later this evening, subject to weather conditions."

STUDENTS and staff at Harlington Community School bid a fond farewell to their headteacher retiring after 20 years of service.

Neil Sherman joined the school in 1979 as a maths teacher, before leaving for a brief spell and returning as deputy head.

He was appointed headteacher at the school, in Pinkwell Lane, Hayes, eight years ago.

More than 100 pupils and past and present staff joined Mr Sherman to wish him well on Monday (14).

The school, in Weymouth Lane, teaches children with Autism and complex learning or medical needs, and this latest event is part of a wider campaign launched by the pub that aims to raise £3,500 for the school by the year's end.
John Goddard, Head Teacher at Hedgewood Primary School, said: "We very much appreciate the wonderful support from the Vine Inn. We are sure the Casino evening will be great fun and prove to be a real winner for our children."
Noreen Murphy, General Manager at the Vine Inn, added: "The Idea is to raise money for an important cause which is close to our hearts, whilst ensuring that everyone enjoys the night to the full."
Tickets are £22, and all money will go directly to Hedgewood School. Open from 8 til late.
