Posted by Jack Griffith on Dec 31, 09 09:00 AM in Crime

Police are appealing for information after a a 'large amount of money' went missing from a football ground's premises on the Sunday before Christmas.
The burglary happened between 4.30pm and 6.30am on December 20 and 21 at the Hayes Gate Football Club in Springfield Road, Hayes.

The perpetrator made away with thousands of pounds, as well as a CCTV recorder and bottles of alcohol. It also appeared that unsuccessful attempts were made to break into the fruit machines on the premises.
The burglar is thought to have gained entry through a small rear window at the back of the premises which was forced open.
Upon gathering the loot, the perpetrator made his way out of the back door which was found open when police arrived at the scene.
It is unknown whether there was more than one burglar or whether it is a lone suspect.
Police thoroughly searched the area around the club but found no clues and are asking for anyone with information about this case to come forward.
