Firefighters tackle Harlington blaze for two hours

Posted by Jack Griffith on Feb 4, 10 02:01 PM in

An explosion at a farm house was narrowly averted by fire services following a blaze in Harlington last night.

20 firefighters from the Hayes, Heathrow and Hillingdon brigades were called to a fire at a large farm outbuilding in West End Lane yesterday evening.

It was eventually extinguished at 11.30pm, having battled the blaze for over two hours.

The emergency services cordoned off the surrounding area during the fire amid fears that gas cylinders stored in the building would explode when exposed to the flames.

No one was hurt, and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
