YEADING Library is to be refurbished, with work starting in June.

The library, in Yeading Lane, Hayes, will be getting a new children's library, new computer equipment, and a Starbucks Coffee station as part of the facelift, costing the council £335,558.

The renovation, to be carried out by contractors Shaylor Group plc, will start in June and take up to 20 weeks to complete. The facility will close in the meantime.

The project was given the go-ahead at council cabinet meeting last Thursday (26).

Hayes End Library, in Uxbridge Road. was demolished for redevelopment in Aprill 2011, and is now nearing completion.

All of the borough's 17 libraries are in line for improvement works. So far, 11 have been modernised.
