Man, 21, behind bars for violent knife attack
A 21-YEAR-OLD who stabbed a man in broad daylight after being called to a dispute by a friend has been jailed.
Teniko Thomas struck in Kingshill Avenue, Hayes, after a friend who had got into an argument with the victim called him up.
The injured man, aged 35, suffered a serious wound to the back of his leg. He managed to stagger to a nearby newsagents, where an ambulance was called.
Thomas was arrested and charged a few days after the January 6 attack, along with two others - Sadeeq Brown, 27, and Zelous Smythe, 21.
Thomas, of Swallow Drive, Northolt, initially denied causing grievous bodily harm but later changed his plea.
He appeared at Harrow Crown Court on August 3 and was sentenced to 30 months in jail. He was also given a five-year restraining order barring him from contacting the victim.
Mr Brown, also of Swallow Drive, and Mr Smythe, of Shadwell Drive, Northolt, were cleared of the same charge.
DC Rob Yule, the investigating officer, said: "The assault was completely unprovoked and extremely violent.
"Thomas had arrived at the scene and got involved in an argument that had nothing to do with him. He has then made a conscious decision to stab the victim.
"I want to thank the victim and the witnesses for providing support to the police investigation and prosecution."
