FATHER Christmas will arrive by steam train on Sunday (14/12) at Harlington Locomotive Society in the High Street.
Santa will arrive at 11.30am and 2.30pm and it only costs 40p to take a steam train ride through two orchards.
Hot mince pies and drinks can be enjoyed from 11am until dusk at the Harlington site.
The society is supported by Hillingdon Community Trust grants and car parking and admission is free.
THOUSANDS of pounds has been pledged to a Harlington swimming pool in a bid to fix its damaged roof.
Council planners have approved requests to repair William Byrd Swimming Pool in Victoria Lane, Harlington, after it emerged a large investment was required to bring the popular pool back into top condition.
Hillingdon Council leader Ray Puddifoot, said: "I have approved expenditure to repair the roof, and have set aside £95,000.
"It has been quoted at £70,000 but these things sometime cost more so we are playing it safe, and any left over funds we will allocate elsewhere.
"The William Byrd trust took over from the council 10 years ago and do a fantastic job so they deserve our support."
The work is set to begin in early spring at the pool which attracts attendances of around 27,000 a year.
It is also used by six schools and is the training venue for successful Hillingdon swimming club,the Seabyrds.
VOLUNTARY drivers are being sought by a Hayes dining group which serves the elderly community.
The Hayes Dining Club which has moved from the Harlington Baptist Church to St Peter and St Paul's Church in Waltham Avenue now requires drivers who can take people from their homes to the church.
The dining club is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 10.30 and 3pm.

RUGBY players will be celebrating in Hayes after a much sought after approval was given to fix a leaky roof.
Hillingdon Council pledged to provide Hayes Rugby Club with £5,000 to complete internal repairs to the roof and to carry out gutter repairs.
The club, established in 1965, is located at Grosvenor Playing Fields, Kingshill Avenue, Hayes, and is also used by The Grange Judo Club.
COMEDIAN, singers, actors and magicians are being invited to a talent show held by a community centre.
The event is being organised by The Brookside Community Centre, in Brookside Road, Hayes, on September 27 and starts at 6pm.
The centre are organising the event to give people the chance to showcase their talents and the dance performances can be from any cultural background.

ON Tuesday, August 26 the day after flying back from Beijing as part
of the triumphant Team GB, Jamie Staff winner of a Gold Medal in the
Team Sprint track cycling event at the Olympics visited the Hillingdon
Cycle Circuit in Hayes.
Jamie was welcomed by Cllr Henry Higgins the borough's Cabinet Member
for Culture, Sport and Leisure, and Hillingdon Cycle Circuit Users Group
Chairman Stuart Benstead.
Jamie then met members of the Hillingdon Slipstreamers youth cycling
club, which is based at the Circuit. The young riders were thrilled to
meet Jamie who showed them his gold medal, posed for photographs and
patiently answered their questions about cycling and the Olympics.
A Channel 5 TV reporter and crew then interviewed Jamie, who stressed
the importance of facilities such as the Hayes Circuit to encourage
youngsters to participate in cycle sport. The Slipstreamers then cycled
several laps of theonr-mile Circuit with Jamie in the lead accompanied by
the reporter and crew.
Note: Hillingdon Slipstreamers is a youth cycling club for five to 16 year
olds that meets at the Hillingdon Cycle Circuit, Springfield Road, Hayes,
every Saturday morning from 10 to 12 noon. Prospective new members are
welcome to visit any Saturday morning.
The club holds British Cyling's "Go-Ride" and Sport England's "Clubmark" accreditations, with cycle
coaching and training provided by qualified volunteer coaches..
CHILDREN will be able to enjoy fair rides, jump on a bouncy castle and have a chance to meet firemen as a community centre celebrates its annual fair.
The event will take place next Saturday (September 6) at the Yeading Community Centre in Ditchfield Road, Yeading, between 2pm and 6pm.
Clare Ward, an administrator at the centre, said: "We'll have lot of stalls selling African crafts, book and cake stalls and a barbecue. The money will go towards maintaining the centre so that it remains of a high standard.
"Last year we raised £1,000 and we would be really happy if we could raise more than that this year."

A NEW leisure trust is set to open in partnership with the council to encourage more children to get fit.
Active Lifestyles Gym aims to work with schools in the area to get pupils into the habit of using a fitness centre.
The organsisation will be operating at the Goals Soccer Centre in Springfield Road, Hayes, and it will hold its official opening on September 1.
Andy Crossley, centre manager, said: "There is a lot said in the media about childhood obesity and it is important to get children going to the gym because there are so many children who aren't active."
The two storey gym will offer cardiovascular machines and a range of fitness classes.
FREE training will be offered to help young people improve their cycling skills.
The event is being organised by Hayes Hawks BMX Club at Lake Farm Country Park in Dawley Road, Hayes.
Coaching will be available on Wednesday, August 27 between 4pm and 6pm and at the same time on Thursday, August 28. A girls only coaching clinic will also be held on September 6 between 1.30pm and 3.30pm.
