THE chairman of the Hayes Town Partnership has called for an urgent review of khat- an east African drug which is still legal in this country.

David Brough has written to the Home Office asking for its legal status to be reviewed, as it is growing more and more popular and has been linked to acts of violence.

DOCTORS will be going outdoors to serve the public as part of the NHS's 60th year celebrations.

People will have the opportunity to speak to GPs about various health issues at the band stand in Station Road, Hayes, on September 4 between 10am and 2pm.

Dr Sabby Kant at Northwood Health Centre in Acre Way, said: "I took part in a similar event in Uxbridge in July where we had a great reaction from the public with over 150 people coming over to speak to me and my colleagues about their health so I really looking forward to supporting a similar event in Hayes.

"In Uxbridge, we had wide ranging enquiries from how to access health services to questions about blood pressure, diet, skin conditions and family planning issues.

"One of the reasons that I am taking part again is that I am I'm hoping to increase the awareness between symptoms and poor lifestyle habits. My mission is to get people to factor health into their ambitions for life."
